Nomex–a fireproof material

Nomex is a registered trademark for flame-resistant meta-aramid material developed in the early 1960s by DuPont and first marketed in 1967.

Nomex and related aramid polymers are related to nylon, but have aromatic backbones, and hence are more rigid and more durable. Nomex is the premier example of a meta variant of the aramids. Unlike Kevlar, Nomex cannot align during filament formation and has poorer strength. However, it has excellent thermal, chemical, and radiation resistance for a polymer material.

Nomex fiber have excellent heat resistance and flame retardant, good dimensional stability, good mechanical properties, soft, good spinnability. It has become one of the most widely used high temperature resistant fiber. It can be used to make space suit or firefighter uniform.Of course it also can be used to produce socks. So if you were need or interested in it,please feel free to contact us–JiYang Industry Co.,Ltd.We will supply you the best quality products.
